Admissions Process
To Become a Green Wave
Take the High School Placement Test (incoming freshman only)
Eighth-grade students applying to St. Edward CCHS for the 2026–2027 school year must register online to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). The test helps with course placement and offers scholarship opportunities.

Merit Scholarship Program
Incoming freshmen who take the placement test at St. Edward on November 15, 2025, are eligible for one-time merit scholarships based on their scores:
- 1st Tier: $2,000 (scores 99–95%)
- 2nd Tier: $1,500 (scores 94–90%)
Complete the online Registration
Online registration for the 2026-2027 school year for incoming freshmen should be completed prior to the Class of 2030, New Freshmen Course Selection Night on Thursday, March 05, 2026. If you have not completed the online application or HSPT testing, you may still register your student by:

$350 non-refundable family registration fee is required to reserve your student’s place on our roster for the 2026-2027 school year. Sign up today by clicking the FACTS Link. Once you have created your account the $350 registration fee will be applied to your FACTS account.
Parent(s) and /or guardian(s) and the student will meet with a faculty department chair during New Freshmen Course Selection Night on March 05, 2026. During this meeting, you will review course placement for your student based on their academic records and standardized HSPT scores.
Admission Policies
It has always been the teaching of the Catholic Church that every Catholic child shall have an equal right to be educated in a Catholic school. It has been the expressed policy of the Diocese of Rockford that every qualified child should be entitled to admission to St. Edward without regard to race, national origin, sex, ethnic, or social-economic background.
Students will be admitted whose academic, attendance and behavior records are in good standing. These records may be reviewed with the students' elementary school principal/teacher for incoming freshmen or the previous secondary school for transfer students.
Financial Assistance
St. Edward Central Catholic High School offers need based financial tuition assistance. If your family is planning to send a student to our school, but will require need based assistance to do so, online forms will be available November 1, 2025.
Financial Assistance forms are due no later than April 15th, 2026. Forms received after April 15th will not be considered.
