St. Edward High School is thrilled to host Nuestras Historias following its initial run at the Gail Borden Public Library! This beautiful exhibit from the Elgin History Museum celebrates six generations of Hispanic families whose stories and contributions have helped shape our Elgin community.
We look forward to highlighting the many St. Edward alumni and graduates of other Diocese of Rockford schools featured in the exhibit over the coming weeks!
A heartfelt thank-you to the Elgin History Museum staff and our St. Edward students for today’s exhibit installation, and to Deacon Rafael Villagomez, a member of our Executive Commission of Advisors, and former St. Edward parent Cristina Colunga for helping bring this opportunity to our school.
The exhibit will be on display November 4 – January 5 at St. Edward. We can’t wait to share these stories with our community! Our Girls Kairos retreat begins today! Our student leaders are on their way up to St. Benedict's Abbey now to prepare an amazing week for our senior girls and junior future leaders, who will join them this afternoon. Please pray for our retreat team and all the students while they step away for this powerful time of reflection. 🙏

There’s something truly special about Kairos, and it wouldn’t be possible without the incredible people who make it happen!
A heartfelt thank you to our student Kairos leaders for the time, faith, and love they’ve poured into preparing for this meaningful four-day journey with their peers.
We are so grateful to Ms. Adams, Mrs. Schmidt, Mr. Gonzales, and Fr. Grant, our dedicated Campus Ministry team, for their leadership and preparation. We also thank our wonderful staff leaders who are generously stepping away from their own families and responsibilities to accompany our students.
As our Kairos retreats begin, we ask our Green Wave family to keep our students and leaders in your prayers over the next two weeks.
