As we approach the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, St. Edward High School will come together in remembrance and prayer. We are committed to passing on the resilience and hope embodied by first responders, survivors, and countless others whose courage emerged in the face of tragedy.
Throughout the week, we will pray for peace and remember those whose lives were lost in the September 11 terrorist attacks. On Friday, our school community will celebrate a Mass for Peace and Justice, gather for a special remembrance assembly, and place 2,983 American flags across our campus and Greg True Field, one for each life lost on 9/11 and in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
Our National Honor Society is also supporting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Students who make a $5 donation during lunch on Tuesday or Wednesday may participate in a red, white, and blue dress-down day on Thursday. All students will return to regular school uniform on Friday, September 11, for Mass.
As we remember, we pray that God will make each of us an instrument of His peace.

It’s a St. Edward Senior Sunday! Our seniors have demonstrated great leadership in the first few weeks of the school year and we are so excited for what’s to come! That checklist is going to be completed before we know it. We L💚VE the Class of 2027!

Last week, St. Edward students, staff, and coaches worked to support families facing food insecurity both here in our own community and across the world. During our Wave of Service Day, students served at FISH Food Pantry in Carpentersville, Food for Greater Elgin, and Feed My Starving Children, completing a variety of tasks including cleaning, boxing, organizing, and shelving food for those in need.
No matter the task, our students showed up with intention, ready to serve others and put their faith into action. We invite our entire Green Wave community to join them: find a need, give your time, and serve someone in your community. Every act of service matters!
